Workers' hearing loss cannot be cured, but it can be prevented.:

• Avoid or reduce harmful noise levels
   
• If you cannot eliminate harmful noise, wear approved hearing protection
   
• If you have to shout to be heard, the noise level is loud enough to possibly damage hearing

Through annual monitoring of workers hearing, we can spot areas of concern before they become a problem.

Custom Fit Hearing Protection

Comfortable, easy to use and cost effective! All hearing protection fittings and recommendations are based on the individual employee's noise exposure and needs.

Mobile Hearing Testing

• All our IAT (Industrial Audiometric Technicians) are WorkSafe BC Certified
   
• On-site service
   
• Two sound booths in each unit, testing two employees at a time
   
• Employees are provided with test results on a wallet-sized card (valid for one year)
   
• Consultation regarding hearing test results
   
• Evaluation of hearing protection including fit test, visual inspection and counseling
   
• Submission of test results to WorkSafe BC

Sound Level Surveys

Noise is a major occupational hazard that can cause hearing loss, stress, difficulty in verbal communication and safety hazards. Prolonged or excessive  noise exposure can result in permanent hearing loss. We offer noise level surveys that are designed to help your company address areas of concern:

• Measure workplace noise levels and workers' noise exposure levels
   
• Recognize potential noise problems
   
• Identify jobs and equipment that potentially pose a risk
   
• Identify needs for further action
   
• Discuss noise control methods, including the use of hearing protection

Employee hearing loss can be prevented by timely recognition, evaluation and control of noise exposure in the workplace.
