Community Involvement
Connect Hearing is committed to bettering the community through communication, building awareness, education and more.
Community Commitment
Through its “Connecting to Hearing Health” initiative, Connect Hearing promotes the importance of hearing to a healthy lifestyle. This initiative focuses on four core areas: communication, awareness, education and the enjoyment of sound.
Communication:
Pacific Assistance Dogs (PADs)
PADs provide assistance for people who are facing the daily challenges of life with a physical disability or who are deaf or hard of hearing. These highly skilled dogs allow clients to experience a greater level of independence and an enhanced quality of life.
Connect Hearing & Affiliates is a proud sponsor of PADs.
Awareness:
-
In an effort to raise awareness on the topic of hearing loss we proudly support the Hear the World Foundation.
- We support local hearing-related non-profit organizations such as the Island Deaf and Hard of Hearing Society.
Education:
Connect Hearing is committed to supporting education programs that promote excellence within the field of hearing healthcare.
-
$3,000 for The Margaret J. Hallam Scholarship, offered to Canadian Audiology graduate programs and/or Hearing Instrument Specialists through Grant MacEwan College or UBC.
-
$1,000 annually to the UBC Otolaryngology Residence program.
- $1,000 annually to the UBC Medical School GP program.
Enjoyment of Sound:
Connect Hearing helps our customers feel confident in their conversations. As part of an active, engaged lifestyle Connect Hearing sponsors local events that celebrate sound. Whether it’s the symphony or a local concert in the park, we support these activities at various levels.
